Ode to Day Care

Little children come to me for hugs and books and such

I care for all their simple needs and I also fix them lunch.

I pick up toys, I mop their spills and often dry their tears.

I change their diapers, settle fights, and kiss away their tears

I tie their shoes, I button coats and push them on the swing.

I really love these kids you see but there is just one more thing

Call me Mom, Aunt or Florence, & those names just might fit.

But please don't call me SITTER because I never get to SIT!

Pitzer Family - John, Sabrina, William, Ashlyn & Skyler

My husband and I have owned Special Blessings since 2004. I have worked in the childcare field since 1993 except for a brief period during which I worked as the Drug & Alcohol Program Manager for Middle GA Community Action Agency. John has been employed with Frito Lay, Inc. since 2003. We were both born and raised in Perry, Georgia and enjoy being a part of many community activities. Children are now, and will continue to be, a very important element of our lives. Our intent when purchasing the center was to ensure that children have a comfortable and safe environment in which to learn and grow into healthy, happy individuals. It is a goal that we strive to not only maintain, but to exceed everyday.

Sabrina Soto - Food Program Coordinator

Sabrina Soto - Center Director

Hi, my name is Sabrina S. and I have worked for Special Blessings for 15 years. I started in the 2yr room and worked my way up to Center Director. My love for children didn't just start here at SBLC. I was born and raised in Florida where I worked at a daycare there for 5 years. There I worked with Infants, ones and two's. In 2007 my daughter and I moved to Georgia. I obtained my TCC, followed by my diploma, in ECE. I love seeing the children grow and becoming our future. I also enjoy the bond that I created with all the parents and families at SBLC. During my spare time I enjoy doing family activities like game nights, swimming, eating out, movies and taking vacations.

I’m Jakirra and i am 23 years old . I have always had an idea that working with kids was what i wanted to pursue since I was little. This is my first professional childcare job but I’ve always worked with kids just dealing with many in my personal life . In my free time all I would do is babysit for my peers and that’s honestly what got me here today ! I enjoy binge watching a good television show and sitting around having a good life with some good people . I look forward to putting more years in to this job and going far with it .
